Welcome to the Rumble Museum’s Cheney 2050 Virtual Event!

The website contains a range of exciting things for you to discover, including our virtual gallery, our Ideas Wall, and our Tree Trail.



The Gallery

Our Gallery features artefacts from our Rumble Museum’s collections, mini talks by a range of experts exploring aspects of the future for schools, museums and communities, ideas by local primary school children on the future of schools and poems written about Cheney’s trees by Year Seven students.



The Ideas Wall

Our Ideas Wall will be added to during the day itself (24th March) with thoughts and visions by our Cheney sixth form students on how their school, the Rumble Museum and the wider community can develop in the next thirty years. Keep popping back to see new ideas!



The Tree Trail

Our Tree Trail is designed by Year Eight Cheney students and features some of Cheney’s most beautiful trees, with voice-overs by staff as well as some well-known voices, and information about the science, folklore, myth and history connected to the trees.

How do I unsubscribe from the site?

Please send an email to lro@cheney.oxon.sch.uk with “unsubscribe” in the title.

How to submit to the ideas wall?
To have an idea featured on the Ideas Wall email in to lro@cheney.oxon.sch.uk .
What sort of ideas can I submit to the Ideas Wall?
We welcome any ideas you might have about how Cheney School or the Rumble Museum might be able to change in the future. The ideas can be from any sort of environmental, technological, creative, design, social inclusion or other angle. It can be just a couple of lines or longer – we don’t mind the length. We will publish all ideas anonymously unless you state that you would like your name to appear as the author.
Can anyone submit to the Ideas Wall?
We welcome ideas from any site visitors, and will add these after 24th March. However, on the day of the event itself (24th March), we will only be putting up ideas submitted by Cheney students involved in the workshops and talks.

How do I find out more about the Rumble Museum?

The Rumble Museum has a website at www.rumblemuseum.org.uk where you can find out all about the museum and its collections.

How do I attend the workshops and talks in the Event Timetable?
The live workshops and talks in the Events Timetable are booking only for Cheney students on the day itself. If you are a Cheney student involved in this event, you will have received a personalised invitation.

However, we will be making some talk and workshop recordings available once the event is over, so do come back to visit, as these will be publicly available after the day itself.



Registering

You do not need to register to enjoy our main content listed above. Users can register if they would like to take part in the site gamification system, where you can gain points for visiting different parts of the site, and get badges for completing certain sections. If you complete a section and gain a badge, we will enter your name into a prize draw. Winners will be announced by Friday 26th March.


Event Workshops and Talks

If you visit the “Event Timetable” you will discover workshops and talks. These are for Cheney sixth form students only on the day itself. However, we will be putting recordings of these online the following day for visitors to explore and listen to.
